WHO WE ARE

The topics of our Non Profit Organization are: sustainable tourism, interculture, local development and organic farming. The main project and headquarter of our association is a youth hostel named Wiki Hostel located in a green oasis on the top of an hill in the charming frame of Rome’s countryside. Around the hostel gravitate many other social projects that aim to increase awareness and models about sustainable local development.
Our goal is not just to host our travellers at the best of our ability, but also to promote the hostelling & backpacking philosophy and to put in practice intercultural exchanges between people from different countries, languages, cultures. We promote many cultural events for a crazy crossover between the local community and the international travellers: cooking together, discovering the local traditions, sharing experiences. The activities are Non Profit based: all the earnings are re-invested to grow up projects and local community!
The Hostel and the other projects are managed by a young, active, open-minded crew oriented to the people 😉

– Facilitate socialization and interaction between the hostel’s guests
– Jobs of general maintenance (eg. gardening, cleaning of common areas)
– Help with website translations
– Encourage participation of guests and travellers in the daily activities / experiences of the hostel

#2 >>> Handyman & Have Fun : decore and improve Wiki Hostel

– Woodworks: production of simple objects / furnitures (manual skill is required)
– Follow the maintenance man and help him with small repairs (eg. painting, plumbing, electical…)
– Decoring and painting works
– Facilitate socialization and interaction between the hostel’s guests

#3 >>> Play & Perform : Perform in summer events or propose trainings!

– Organize unplugged/live concerts or little shows at the hostel or in the old town
– According to your special skills you can propose trainings (e.g. Yoga, meditation, music classes…)
– Facilitate socialization and interaction between the hostel’s guests
– Encourage participation of guests and travellers in the daily activities / experiences of the hostel

 

WHAT WE OFFER

Wiki Hostel is a real gateway for Rome and everything will surprise you: from the hostel crew to our facilities and location, just 30 minutes from Rome downtown, and the unique and nice atmosphere. We have won multiple awards about the friendliness of our staff.

WHAT YOU CAN BENEFIT

Our management is strongly oriented to intercultural exchanges and meeting with the local community: staying with us you can meet a lot of new international friends, but you will have also the opportunity to meet local people and learn directly from them a bit more about italian culture, traditions, language…
We love to quote Mark Twain: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness” 🙂
You can learn a bit about how we work as social enterprise: we are a small but complex organization and you will discover we are much more than a simple hostel… Of course you can learn several jobs! You will improve your soft skills like team working, communication and interpersonal skills, we ask you to be responsible and learn to respect the agreements and the other people working or volunteering with you.
The best common benefits for everyone (staff, volunteers, guests, local community) are represented by the strong and fantastic relationship everyone will hold during that experience. Everytime amazing!

LOCATION

The hostel is located in Zagarolo, a typical Italian old town just 30 minutes out of Rome downtown (directly connected with the main hub of “Roma Termini” railway). We are in the nice south-east of Rome, so-called “Castelli Romani & Monti Prenestini” area: it is a beautiful area, rich of history and featured by a tradition of good wine and tasty food. This is a favorited departure point for visiting Rome thanks to the many direct and fast train connections between our little old town (Zagarolo) and Roma downtown.
