Short description

Are you looking for an alternative experience of traveling and life? Join our Work Camp: you’ll be involved with an international youth group to help the local community of the old town of Zagarolo (Castelli Romani e Monti Prenestini area, nearby Rome) to organize and build up the “Wine & Grape Festival” (“Sagra dell’Uva”).

On the 1st week-end of October, every year from more than 70 years, Zagarolo hosts this real attraction and typical old tradition you cannot miss, an incredibile event with historical parades, free wines and many events such as free live music concerts and artshow for people of all age. You help us to realize the medieval set design for the old town, prepare the food and drink kiosk, manage and clean up the area of the festival, and we’ll host you for free!
It can be a really fun and exiting experience into the Italian old town tradition, if you are interested do not hesitate to sumbit the application.

NoBorder Onlus is an NGO that operates in the fields of social tourism, intercultural and sustainability. Our association was founded in 2004, we are a young and open-minded group that develops complex projects about territorial enhancement. We aim to involve the local community but also travelers and foreign volunteers into the process of cultural and local promotion. During the festivals in the old town of Zagarolo we support the administration and the official tourist association in the general management of the activities and events.

Area
Zagarolo, Roma, Italia
Zagarolo is a typical Middle Age Italian old town located just 30 minutes from Rome downtown (“Roma Termini” railway).  The historical center lies on a narrow tufaceous hill, surrounded by green valleys and host many precious highlights: a palace, churches, typical alleys and little streets. The pilgrim route “Via Francigena” passes through the countryside of Zagarolo. We are in the nice south-east of Rome, so-called “Castelli Romani & Monti Prenestini” area: it is a beautiful area, rich of history and featured by a tradition of good wine and tasty food. Zagarolo is a favorited departure point for visiting Rome thanks to the many direct and fast train connections between our little town and Roma downtown.
